Nexium Control 20mg Gastro-Resistant Tablets treats heartburn and acid reflux. They are suitable for short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (heartburn, acid regurgitation) in adults, aged 18 or over.
Caution: Do not use if you are allergic to esomeprazole or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
How to use:

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an alternative to the generic form of Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium) for patients who do not have a prescription.
In a statement on Wednesday, the agency said it had added a new generic alternative to the brand-name medication, Propecia, in the last six months. The statement said the Food and Drug Administration has approved an alternative to Propecia in patients who do not have a prescription.

“As the Food and Drug Administration has indicated, the FDA has granted approval to a generic form of a popular prescription drug, Propecia,” the FDA said in a statement. “This approval is a critical step in providing patients with access to a reliable, affordable, and accessible prescription drug.”
“I would encourage patients to compare prices of the brand name Propecia with the generic version of Nexium,” said FDA spokeswoman Kathleen Sebelius. “The price of this generic drug should never be more than $0.60 per tablet.”
The drug is the most popular form of the drug, sold in 20mg, 30-mg, or 100mg doses, according to the FDA.
“When patients are asked about the cost of their medication, they are often surprised and are often disappointed when their answers do not indicate that the treatment is for the best. They may find that a lower price is not a good price for them,” said Dr. David Driscoll, medical director at the University of Minnesota’s medical school and an expert on prescription drugs.
“This is a matter of concern and may not be appropriate for patients with existing insurance or who are currently insured under the brand name Propecia.”
Dr. Driscoll said the drug has been widely studied and approved to treat many conditions. The drug is only approved to be sold in 20mg doses in the United States.
Steven Nissen, director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation, said the drug is not approved for patients to take on an annual prescription.
“We have seen that some of these patients do not have insurance coverage,” he said. “This will not change unless the FDA approves this drug for them.”
The FDA’s approval of the generic form of Nexium, the generic drug sold by Teva Pharmaceuticals in the United States, is based on several factors.
“We will continue to evaluate the data and make an informed decision that is best suited to our patients’ needs,” said Dr. Steven Nissen, director of the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation. “The generic version of this drug will be available to patients as soon as they are aware of the potential benefits.”
The drug is sold as a generic, and the FDA is not required to approve the generic form of Nexium, the FDA said.
“The generic form of Nexium is currently being marketed as Propecia. The drug is being marketed for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and to lower the risk of stroke and heart attack,” it said.
The FDA said the drug is not approved for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, a condition in which the prostate gland enlarges.
The FDA has approved a generic form of Nexium for a number of patients.
Nexium is available for patients with an estimated 4.5 million prescriptions filled in 2018.
